But while the sheer amount of information in that supposed Grand Theft Auto 6 leak was a big tip-off that the leak was fake, there were some other signs as well. Hardcore Grand Theft Auto fans were able to write-off the leak due to a claim it made about the game's supposed characters. With rumors pointing to Grand Theft Auto 6 being set in Vice City, that seems plausible when taken at face value.

The game was massively influential and helped propel the gaming industry at large toward embracing non-linear open-ended sandbox games that have since become ubiquitous.
